Mission

Partners in Tourism: Culture and Commerce is a coalition of cultural service organizations, the travel industry, and federal agencies that provides a forum for collaborative research, education, promotion and advocacy with the common goal of advancing the role of culture and heritage in the travel and tourism industry.

  • A Heritage Tourism Video showcasing destinations that have made the most of their cultural and heritage resources in attracting visitors including Berea, Kentucky, Charleston, South Carolina and Colquitt, Georgia. The 8-minute video was produced by the Georgia Council for the Arts in partnership with Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Southern Arts Federation.

 

  • Jonesborough, Tennessee is featured in a new success story, highlighting the small Northeast Tennessee town’s preservation and revitalization and its popularity as the home of the National Storytelling Festival and the International Storytelling Center.
