Vermont Builds Tourism Success on Anniversaries

The state of Vermont and communities across the state took advantage of the 400th anniversary of the arrival of French explorer Samuel de Champlain in 2009 by planning new events and promoting existing events through the Champlain Quadricentennial.

 2012 Guidelines for Our Town Grants

The National Endowment for the Arts has released guidelines for 2012 Our Town grants. Now in its second year, Our Town supports creative placemaking projects that contribute toward the livability of communities and help transform them into lively, beautiful, and sustainable places with the arts at their core. Our Town will invest in creative and innovative projects in which communities, together with their arts and design organizations and

                                         artists. 

NEA staff will be conducting Our Town webinar on

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 to answer questions and walk

applicants through this year’s guidelines. 

Applications are due March 1, 2012.

 

 New Name for Corporation for Travel Promotions

Brand USA

The Corporation for Travel Promotion's introduction of a new brand represents

a significant milestone in our country's efforts to promote travel to the U.S. from around the world. The organization, which will now be known as Brand USA has prepared information about the new brand and a video to introduce it. You can

Brand USA (formerly the Corporation for Travel Promotion) was created for the purpose

of encouraging travelers from all over the world to visit the United States of America.

The public-private marketing entity was created in 2010 to work in close partnership with

the travel industry maximizing the social and economic benefit of travel in communities around the country. Brand USA, through its call-to-action "Discover America," will

encourage and inspire travelers to explore America's boundless possibilities.
